Her popular ''WAC'em'' technique involves in-depth strategies to handle sticky situations in social interaction by staying with assertive behavior but not allowing it to develop into visible aggression. Barbara Pachter's WAC technique is an acronym for What: What's really bothering you? Ask: What do you want the other person to do or change? And Check-in: Find out what the other person thinks about hanging his behavior. Barbara Pachter is credited with holding close to 1500 skill-building seminars across the country.
