Program Director - AARS Womens Outpatient
Job Overview
Lee Woodward Counseling Center for Women (LWCC) is an outpatient program that provides integrated substance use and mental health services for women who reside in San Francisco. Our counseling approach is trauma-informed, harm reduction and strengths-based. Services include individual, group and case management services as well as yoga, parenting support and child care. Our goals are to provide a safe and respectful counseling space for women from all walks of life and to reduce the impact of substance use and mental health conditions that lead to healthy, meaningful lives.
The Program Director is responsible for the direct management of LWCC and the supervision of program staff. Through supervision and training, the Program Director ensures that trauma informed services are delivered and all aspects of the clinical process are functioning efficiently and in compliance with contracts and licensing regulations for the program.
Key Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities:
Program Director oversees overall management of the LWCC program; Ensures that guidelines, procedures, program goals and objectives are met; Responsible for contract monitoring audits and regular program reports; Has responsibility for coordination of daily operations and services; Responsible for the operational functions of the facility including but not limited to safety and security, compliance and accountability.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for direct supervision and training of staff and student interns; Responsible for recruitment, hiring, direct supervision, and on-going training of all program staff and student interns; Ensures staff are familiar with program policies, procedures, and practices; Coordinates staff coverage, reviews and responds to vacation requests, and coordinates program services (e.g. referrals, completions); Assists with chart reviews (e.g. audits, staff termination).
Clinical Responsibilities:
Oversees the clinical services at LWCC; Provides consultation to clinical staff; Responsible for reviewing and co-signing staff’s clinical notes as needed; Ensures trauma informed services are delivered to participants with cultural sensitivity. Implements evidence-based interventions; Carries a small caseload and provides direct client services such as crisis intervention, assessments, individual, group, case management and collateral services as needed.
Administration and Compliance:
In accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements, ensures that staff maintain accurate documentation on all clients; Performs regular audits to ensure contract compliance; Ensures that clients are in compliance with their treatment plans, and reviews and approves treatment plans as needed; Coordinates with staff to correct all Electronic Health Records discrepancies within a timely manner.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:
Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, or social work
A valid registration under California Board of Behavioral Science (AMFT, ASW, APCC)
At least 4 years experience providing behavioral health services
2 years management/supervisor experience in a behavioral health setting
Experience working with women, diverse populations
Valid CA Driver’s License
First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment
CPR Certified within 30 days of employment
Desired:
Licensed MFT, LCSW or LPCC in the state of California with 2 years of post licensure clinical experience OR
Current and valid Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification recognized by DHCS (e.g. CAADE, CADTP)
Background Clearance Required:
Must not be on active parole or probation
Knowledge Required:
Understanding of social services, substance use and mental health services systems
Knowledge of principles and techniques of case management, crisis intervention, client centered counseling, and group facilitation
Understanding of trauma informed practices
Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and culturally competent services
Knowledge of clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, etc.)
Understanding of harm reduction approaches
Desired:
Knowledge of evidence based practices such as DBT, Seeking Safety, CBT, MI
Experience with Drug Medi-Cal
Experience working with criminal justice population
Experience with EHR systems (e.g. Welligent, Avatar)
