General Description of Position:
Each iGrad College and Career Coach will be responsible for a subset of the iGrad student population in Bartholomew County. In developing post-secondary plans, iGrad College and Career Coaches will help iGrad students identify and work towards a path to college, vocational training, military, and/or a specified career. College and Career Coaches will report directly to the iGrad Team Leads.
Major Responsibilities:
Coaching
Provide one-on-one coaching that supports college and career exploration, admission process, internship application, financial aid and scholarship resources, and/or development of a post-secondary work plan using local and regional (Eco 15, CEC initiatives, etc.) programs.
Implement intensive and individualized training in the area of job readiness, such as but not limited to job applications and resumes, interview skills, employability (soft) skills.
Help students plan and execute their personal development plans to reach their post-secondary opportunities (goal setting and execution).
Coaching will raise students' awareness of secondary, career technical education, dual credit and post-secondary opportunities (jobs, internships, education, military and more).
Work in close partnership with the high school guidance departments in the helping students navigate through the college application process.
Build and Maintain a Network of Community Partnerships
In conjunction with the Program Director, College and Career Coach may be asked to build on current employer partnerships and/or develop new employer partnerships in order to identify appropriate jobs for iGrad participants.
The College and Career Coach may be asked to follow up on iGrad's employment connections, interface with the public regarding the connection of students with employers and recruiters, leverage and align with EcO15 Seamless Pathways initiatives and coordinate visits to post-secondary options for students. Coaches will also assist in facilitating employer, educator, and other visits to iGrad students.
Program Reporting
Maintain records of students' development plans and progress. Work with the iGrad coaches to enter case notes/RAP notes for each student and other pertinent information.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree preferred; an associate's degree considered. Applicant must have at least 3 years of on ground-experience in public school education, postsecondary education, social work, counseling, psychology, criminal or juvenile justice, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in public school education, postsecondary advising, social work, counseling, psychology, or criminal justice. At least 3 years' experience working with at risk youth and/or teen-aged youth a plus. Knowledge of the area and opportunities

• Knowledge of career assessment, decision making tools and other resources for students.
• Knowledge of the processes required to navigate from high school to postsecondary programs (SAT / ACT, FAFSA, college applications, 21st Century Scholars Program, internships, post-secondary work plans, military)
Work Hours:
28 hours per week; Must be performed between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.; Work will be performed mostly during public school hours (7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.); attendance at some evening meetings might be required. Summer hours as needed.
Hiring Range:
$17/hour
