We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Health Educator on the Quality and Health Programs team in our Merced office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
In this role, you will:
Conduct telephonic and in-person outreach and education to members identified as eligible for the Alliance’s Quality and Health Program activities
Conduct telephonic, virtual, and in-person workshops for members identified as eligible for the Alliance’s Quality and Health Programs
Plan, organize, and implement Quality and Health Program interventions and outreach activities in coordination with other Alliance staff and community-based organizations
Represent the Alliance in community coalitions and initiatives
Provide subject matter expertise and support related to translations and linguistic needs
ABOUT THE TEAM
We keep members healthy outside of the doctor's office through member support in prevention and disease management.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Knowledge of:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Principles and practices of delivering evidence-based and evidence-informed curricula with community members
Principles and practices of health education and health promotion, including program planning, design, and evaluation
Group dynamics and the theories and techniques of teaching and learning for youth and adults
Principles and practices of customer service
And proficiency with Windows based PC systems and Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to:
Develop, promote and implement a variety of health education information, outreach and health education programs and materials
Present health information programs to members, the community and community organizations
Present information about Alliance health programs and workshops in a positive and engaging manner
Conduct research and analyze information in order to respond to inquiries from members, develop outreach and training content and materials, and evaluate program effectiveness
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education or a related field
A minimum of three years of experience in health education, which included some experience conducting health education and/or disease management workshops in the community (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
OTHER DETAILS
While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in hybrid remote/in-office work environment right now and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
Our Alliance office locations have officially re-opened as of May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work in full-time telecommute schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
Based on the nature of work, this position may require onsite presence, which is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.
COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:
This position requires staff to be fully vaccinated and boosted upon their start date as a condition of employment. Proof of vaccination must be submitted at time of hire. Fully vaccinated is defined as receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (ex: Pfizer & Moderna vaccines) OR receipt of a single-dose vaccine (ex: Johnson & Johnson); AND receipt of the booster (if eligible); AND a 2-week period having passed since the administration of the last vaccine dose.
Merced pay range
$61,356
$98,176 USD
Additionally, all positions at the Alliance are required to meet these minimum qualifications.
