The
Missoula College
invites applications for a
Temporary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career Coach
to join their team. The CTE Career Coach works under the direction of the Dean of Missoula College to provide comprehensive CTE career coaching services, using a developmental approach, for Dual Enrollment students and Missoula College students. This position works in collaboration with the Missoula College Director of Dual Enrollment by supporting Dual Enrollment education activities for students in regional high schools. This position also works in collaboration with the Business & Technology department chair to support internships.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Offering individual career coaching appointments
Administering career-related assessments and interpretations
Assisting with academic and career decision making, job search processes, interviewing assistance
Presenting career-related workshops and specialized classroom presentations
Provide monthly advising sessions related support services to dual enrollment students at participating high schools in Ravalli, Missoula, and Mineral counties
Advise and provide dual enrollment students with degree plans that meet their short-term as well as long-term educational and career objectives and assist them in developing their class schedules
Create and organize informational nights for dual enrollment students and their families
Assist the Dual Enrollment Director in carrying out activities that support the mission of the Dual Enrollment Program
Supervise student employees
Other community outreach duties as assigned
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have a working knowledge in:
Work-based learning, registered and unregistered apprenticeship programs, and governing agencies
Local, state, and federal laws affecting assigned institutional programs
Current labor market trends
Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to complex issues
Vast network of industry, community, government, and higher education representatives
Required Skills
Ability to network, collaborate, and problem solve with diverse groups and individuals
Ability to prioritize multiple projects or to change priorities quickly and frequently
Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form and present to small and large audiences
Ability to design and present career and special topic presentations
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, as well as at least two (2) years of related work experience; or any combination of experience and education that would provide the competencies required to successfully discharge the duties assigned to this positon.
A working knowledge of applicable UM policy and procedures
