Job Summary/Essential Duties:

Evaluates and assesses the bio-psycho-social needs of patients.
Assists in determining the most appropriate level of care for the patient, and makes appropriate referrals when indicated.
Demonstrates an understanding of the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM)
Conducts a risk assessment as part of every initial assessment/evaluation.
Develops comprehensive treatment plans in accordance with policy and procedures.
Demonstrates and documents appropriate referral practices, including referrals to treating physician for Axis III diagnosis.
Assists in maintaining currency of patient demographics and insurance information as necessary.
Completes assessment documentation within 24 hours of assessment.
Documentation reflects progress toward goals as established in the treatment plan.
Actively participates in clinical and peer supervision to ensure quality of care and professional performance standards.
Utilize expertise to assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures and identifies opportunities for staff development.
Will ensure proper authorizations are obtained for patients.
Completes time sheets on a daily basis and submits for processing.
Completes assigned tasks within established budgeted hours.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8a-5p','!*!QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Experience
Preferred: 2 years of progressive experience in a mental health/addiction recovery or related field.
 
Education/Licensure
Required: A minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Counseling or Social Work or other related behavioral health field.

Must have a current license/certification in one of the following areas:
Licensed Independent Mental Heath Practitioner (LIMHP) in Nebraska
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa.
Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Iowa
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Iowa
Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Iowa
Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Iowa
Certified Master Social Worker (CMSW)
Certified Social Worker (CSW)
Licensed as a Psychologist in Nebraska or Iowa

****License must be held in the state you provide services.
****The outpatient clinic settings will not accept the provisional license.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess strong knowledge of mental health and chemical dependency; knowledge of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual criteria and appropriate treatment planning for the various diagnostic categories; ability to determine appropriate level of care and triage patients accordingly; basic knowledge of managed care/EAP services and requirements; ability to process and complete charting tasks in a timely manner; knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong knowledge of the principles of growth and developmental needs across the lifespan; good communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; integrity and places a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
