Job Summary
Provides high quality patient care through effective psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and the provision of individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Completes psychosocial assessments of patients to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment and/or life situation.
As member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, plans care for patients based on assessment data (Inpatient, Subacute & RTC Units).
Provides Individual, Group, and Family Psychotherapy for patients as directed by the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan (Inpatient and RTC units).
Coordinates and assists with discharge planning.
Assists with screening, identification, treatment and reporting of victim of abuse, neglect, domestic violence per State of Nebraska laws.
Participates in on-call or weekend hospital coverage.
Maintains a working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact patient care, such as advance directives, child or elder abuse, emergency protective custody procedures, and follow-up communication, committal process follow-up communication.
Maintains a working knowledge of and liaison with community aftercare resources and necessary applications/communication/documentation for psychiatric patients treated at Richard H. Young Hospital.
Document assessment, plan, interactions, and interventions according to Richard H. Young guidelines and standards.
Attend and participate in staff, committee, program, and other administrative meetings.','!*!Position Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
Licensure:
Preference that all positions are fully licensed as LMHP or LCWS in the State of Nebraska.
Minimum of (PLMHP) Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner or (PLCSW) Provisional Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Nebraska.
BLS upon hire
Aggression Management Training within 3 months of employment.
Experience:
No previous experience required.
Unit positions: Prefer 2 years experience at least as a PLMHP/LMHP (and PLADC/LADC if applicable for this position) experience as a therapist.
Professionalism/Growth:
Overall knowledge of behavioral healthcare, including psychopathology and abnormal behavior.
Ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of psychiatric patients and referral sources.
Able to effectively utilize a wide variety of psychotherapeutic approaches with psychiatric patients and their families, including approaches that are short term and solution focused.
Able to perform in and cope with a fast paced work environment.
Able to utilize computers for documentation and treatment planning purposes.
