In addition to this, we are staffed with a substance abuse specialist who facilitates groups seven days a week and works with members on an individual basis to address those who struggle with substance use and other addictive behaviors. Our program has been known to work with individuals who have presented as a real challenge in terms of having continued difficulty residing in a community setting. We work collaboratively with the Ventura County Behavioral Health team, as well as with the court system (i.e. probation officers).u003c/pu003enu003cp style=u0022color: #747578; background-color: #ffffff;u0022u003eWe celebrate and support our members at Brighter Tomorrows, having regular family meetings (campus wide and individually at each program) and campus-wide barbecues. We recognize cultural holidays, such as Martin Luther King Day, Cinco de Mayo, etc. In addition, we have regularly scheduled groups and staff schedule outings on a weekly basis (beach walks, museums, personal needs, etc).Monthly, our members nominate and vote for a citizen of the month; a peer who stood out to them for whatever reason.
