The Director of
Recovery
is a non-aligned, exempt/salaried position that will report to the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning. The ideal candidate will
have knowledge and experience in mental health and wellbeing, re-engagement and truancy, and academic success. The Recovery Coordinator will focus on systems alignment to support Educational Support Team(EST) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills are mandatory.
The Essential Functions of this position include:
Leads and organizes district efforts to ensure all students re-engage in school after the social-emotional and academic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To the maximum extent possible, supports the re-engagement of students with truancy status.
Collects,
coordinates, and performs analysis on the collection of data necessary to fully understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student
academic success, continuous improvement planning, and submission of related disaggregated data to the Vermont Agency of Education.
Coordinates cross-district efforts among social workers, psychologists, school counselors, and school nurses to ensure the district is responsive to students' mental health needs.
Coordinates cross-district efforts of K-5 interventionists to ensure Tier 2 academic interventions are responsive to student learning needs.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with district leaders, regional recovery coordinators, and the VT Agency of Education.
Researches, identifies, and trains site-based teams in universal screening tools (social/emotional and academic).
Engages in frequent and ongoing support for site-based EST.
The required education and experience of this position include:
Education
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
Experience:
Experience with Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) specifically universal, screening, diagnostic, interventions, and progress monitoring assessments to build coordinated systems.
Experience with direct staff supervision required, i.n a school setting preferred
Demonstrate cultural competence with diverse groups across race, ethnicity, religion, gender, class, and sexuality.
Demonstrated success in program planning/management and training/facilitation.
Experience writing concise and accurate reports and records.
Experience with spreadsheets and other tools to analyze and report data.
